Infection Control and Prevention BasicsCourse Overview: Micro-organisms are always present in the environment and can be transferred from one person to another quite easily. Infection Control and Prevention Basics for Healthcare Workplaces shows how infections spread, and the routine practices you can use to prevent the transmission of micro-organisms that cause infections in any healthcare setting. Who Should Take the Course? This course is for all employees that work in health care and community services whether in a hospital, long term care or residential care facility, or in home care or other community based settings. Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to provide a foundation that you can build to improve your understanding of routine practices, proper hand hygiene and the means of transmission of infectious agents. The course is presented in 2 modules:
Evaluation Process: At the end of each module, there is a test. Participants that do not achieve 100% can review the module content and try as many times as necessary to complete the course. Test questions are randomly selected from a test bank, making each test unique. Upon successfully completing all modules, there is a printable certificate for your records. Course Duration: This online course is self-paced. Participants may leave the course at anytime and can resume where they left off. The duration will depend on the individual participant and their prior knowledge of the subject matter. On average, the course will take between 1 - 2 hours to complete. |
