Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Awareness


Course Overview:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Awareness examines the importance of PPE as a means of protecting individuals from workplace hazards and describes the types of PPE which may be used in the workplace.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:
  • Define the term “personal protective equipment” and recognize PPE as one of a variety of safety strategies used to protect individuals from workplace hazards
  • Identify the types of PPE that may be used in the workplace
  • Understand how articles of clothing can function as PPE
  • Describe the types of PPE used to protect feet, hands, eyes, facial area and head
  • Explain how the proper use of earplugs and ear muffs can protect against hearing loss
  • Describe the various PPE options for respiratory protection
  • Know what PPE devices and systems can protect workers from falling
  • Recognize the importance of properly cleaning and maintaining PPE

Evaluation Process:

At the end of each module, there is a test. Participants that do not achieve 100% can review the module content and try as many times as necessary to complete the course. Test questions are randomly selected from a test bank, making each test unique. 

Upon successfully completing all modules, there is a printable certificate for your records.
